Athletic


Jamaica is one of the best countries in sprinting with the current world record holder for the 100m and 200m, Usain Bolt and former 100m world record holder, Asafa Powell, both from the island. Yohan Blake, silver medalist at the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the 100m and 200m and from Jamaica. There is also a team of four Jamaicans, with Bolt, won the gold medal and broke the world record at the Beijing Olympics 2008. their new records are 37.04, from 37.10 in 2008

 

Cricket

Cricket is the most popular sport in Jamaica. The Jamaica national cricket team has ten regional Four Leagues and seven WICB Cups won. Jamaicans also played against the West Indies cricket team that won the 1975 and 1979 Cricket World Cup . Jamaica has some of the world's most famous cricketers

 

Basketball

Basketball is the fastest growing sport on the island of Jamaica and a number of world-class athletes , particularly the Basketball Hall of Fame player Patrick Ewing produced / discovered.
